The love of colour and the way that sunlight changes as it comes through stained glass has inspired Gail Steele of Half-A-Moon to produce pieces of art in stained, fused and slumped glass since 1987. Gail is proud of her ability to produce pieces that can enhance any room. Living and working by the sea influences a lot of her work as she gains inspiration from the landscape around her. Gail designs and produces anything from a small light catcher to a large window panel using traditional construction methods as well as 3D pieces in fused and slumped glass. The studio is full of pieces to buy and treasure or you can commission something which will be unique to yourself.

Glass Artists. GLASSTORM has now become one of Britain's most exciting hot glass studios with works being showcased in museums, galleries and private collections.
In November 2005 the studio was established by the creative duo Brodie Nairn & Nichola Burns. Both have firmly established themselves within the glass art scene in Italy, Switzerland, Germany and The Netherlands. Returning back to Scotland they created their new glass studio and gallery in the beautiful town of Tain in the Highlands of Scotland.
Using their knowledge of Scandinavian and Italian glass making techniques to great effect Brodie and Nichola create their own individual unique art glass, as well as collaborating to create the GLASSTORM range of functional glass, commissions and public art works.

I am fascinated by the robust, dynamic nature of glass and I love exploring this versatile material which is beautiful and translucent...treacherous and contradictory. I combine literary elements with simple yet considered layers and kiln processes. My ideas are insightful and tangible even though my imagination is dominated by abstract styles, I do try to capture thoughts and feelings characterised by colour and detail. Consequently, my interest in psychological approaches to art and my search for self-awareness means I depict covertly emotional themes. Commissions welcome and weekly workshops.

My interest in glass started from my work as a graphic designer in London and has slowly grown into a passion for creating unique and original handmade pieces of glass. My inspiration is nature and the beautiful environment of Fife and Scotland and I incorporate beach combing finds amongst others into some of my pieces.
I began working exclusively in stained glass work and have expanded into 'warm glass' techniques (fused and slumped glass) using a kiln to melt and work the glass and found objects into many exciting pieces and have develoed a new range of glass using these techniques including a range of glass jewellery pieces.
Every piece is individual and there are no mass production techniques used in my work, so when you buy a piece you are buying an individual piece of art glass. I hope you enjoy my work.

Jessamy Kelly 2/9 Elm Row, Edinburgh EH7 4AA link mail 07950 627 264 Jessamy is a contemporary glass artist her sculptural art glass has been exhibited nationally throughout the UK as well as internationally in France, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and in the USA. The material quality of glass and its reaction to light intrigues Jessamy and is the focus of her art glass practice. She aims to harness light by cutting away the glass to reveal the inherent luminosity of the material. Her work is inspired by organic and naturally repeating forms. Simple and elegant in style, each piece of art is a limited edition and is a signed original.
Jessamy worked as an in-house glass designer for Edinburgh Crystal until 2006 when she set up 'Juo Ltd.' with designer Joanne Mitchell.
“I am drawn to the central relationship between glass and light which I examine through my work. The inherent transparent nature of glass and the evocative way that light passes through the glassy surface intrigues and inspires me.”

Agelos Papadakis 95 Marchmont Road, Edinburgh, EH9 1HB link mail 07904 568622 My work is an investigation in the human nature with an emphasis in the study of the individual and social parameters that shape us psychologically. I create private fantasy spaces in which the secret memories, desires or anxieties of the self are subject to the public gaze. The ethereal qualities of glass combined with the projected moving image allow me to construct stories of physical experience in order to evoke an emotional response and reaction in the viewer. My aim is to disorient the viewers psychologically and place them in a silent position between confidante and voyeur.

I am sculptor who works mainly with glass. I am especially fascinated by transparent and semitransparent materials because seeing inside the sculpture creates a "fourth dimension" . My work is usually quite large scale, often exploring various aspects of the human form. I am fascinated by the beauty of human body (even, or perhaps especially when, it is not beautiful in a conventional sense) and by people's embarrassment when confronted by nakedness. I am also interested in the connection between the past and the present.

Rainbow Glass Studio Ltd consists of my husband, Mr Stephen Malcolm and myself Moira Malcolm and a small team of skilled craftsmen assists us. We specialise in restoration of traditional stained glass as well as contemporary architectural glass. As head designer, I work extensively on new contemporary stained glass commissions. I am an Accredited Artist of the Church of Scotland and have completed a good number of commissions since our company began in 2001. I enjoy the art of stained glass because it always brings new challenges and requires a mix of artistic skill along with the technical ability of craft making.

Caro Barlow Glenshinnoch, Auchencairn, by Castle Douglas DG7 1QL link mail 01556 640353 I make "stained glass" windows in the traditional way with lead calms, and also experiment with setting glass in concrete and wood. Light shining through coloured and textured glass is, for me, one way of trying to express the rhythms of constantly changing light and life-forms. I stain, paint, fuse, slump and fire float glass in my studio. In the design of the windows I often also use small pieces of manufactured coloured glass. Commissions are accepted. Studio open by appointment.
